A stitch is a single turn or loop of thread or yarn. Stitches are the fundamental elements used by this group of creators to communicate reflecting personal memories and cultural identities threads.
Artists like LISU VEGA, JUAN HENRIQUEZ, TITA CASTRO, NINA DOTTI , GLORIA HERAZO AND MUU BLANCO, working as alchemists transformed materials of what for centuries was defined as “women’s work”, the art of sewing.
Elements like needlepoint, laces, ribbons, among others, were included in the wonderful pieces of these renowned artists.
Within this compilation, you’ll be able to appreciate sculptures, hand-painted canvases, and paper collages, all intervened in a way with the Thread and the Stitch.
