ART STATEMENT
Embroidery is an old textile technique with which messages are communicated and affiliations are placed.
Machine-made embroidery can be found everywhere. Discreetly attached on clothing as logotypes and brands they demonstrate their message, e.g. the affiliation to a group.
In my first embroided work I produced logos and emblems which look like company logos but show phrases like: “no chance for salary increase”, “I am laid off”, “unemployed” etc.
In the series ” It cannot be an univocal or static world picture” and ” Significance of a banana” collage-like sceneries developed out of single, embroided pictures to the topic Kunstbetrieb and its associated protagonists.
