Carlos Zerpa

 

Born in Valencia, Venezuela, on July 31st 1950. Son of Francisco Zerpa and Carlota Schwarzenberg de Zerpa. He is an artist of unconventional means. Father of three sons, Yohami, Santiago y Sebastián.

He studied Visual Design at the Scuola Politecnica di Milano (1974-1976), Screen printing and Photography at the Scuola Cova di Milano (1976 -1977), Handicraft Design the Instituto de Expresión Colombiano (Bogotá, 1977), Graphic Techniques at The Arts Students League of New York (U.S.A), Karate Do Shotokan and Kickboxing with Sensei Eugen Ossott, and Chinese Martial Arts with Sifu Daniel Medvedov.

Currently, Carlos Zerpa gives seminars of Unconventional Art (Performance Art, Installations, Assembly, Body art, Sound Art, etc.) He is the representative and agent of Little Dragon Bruce Lee Club in Caracas. He work as the Director of the two virtual magazines Rasgadodebocaand Planetazappa.

He has been part of the Frank Zappa Iberoamerican Community since 2004. Carlos Zerpa lives and works on Unconventional Art in the city of Caracas.
